Resumo:
Inventories are responsible for maintaining the continuous flow of both production
as well as the delivery of finished products. In the mining industry, stocks still gain
more prominent since the entire quarry operation is located exclusively where the
extracted material, which is almost entirely located far from large cities, which
makes stock maintenance essential to avoid production losses and lack of inputs
for use. Therefore, the present work aimed to identify the main
problems in inventory management at a mining company located in the municipality of Vieirópolis-PB.
To this end, a bibliographic survey was carried out on this topic, as well as the application of
a questionnaire answered by employees involved in the company's inventory management
studied. To measure the identified problems, the AHP methodology was used.
(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The results showed that the main problems in order
hierarchical categories were: Errors in purchase volumes (31.29%); not using minimum stock
(29.54%); identification of inefficient items (19.74%); insufficient space (10%); quantities
in divergent physical stock and system (9.44%). To this end, it is recommended that
inventory control techniques; improve product identification; use of
periodic inventories and expand the physical space of the warehouse. The scarcity of research
previous studies on this topic brought certain limitations, so we hope that this one contributes
the literature on the topic and which can provide greater depth for future work
about this sector that is still little studied.
