A cost analysis is one of the important factors in achieving success in the search for a safe and efficient construction system, minimizing waste. Therefore, the present study aims to compare the budgets required for the construction of the structure of a single-story residential building, addressing the inputs and labor, for reinforced concrete and structural masonry systems. To conduct this research, the Revit and TQS software were used for the modeling and generation of the structures. After the structural design, structural analyses were performed on both systems to ensure the project's structural safety. Subsequently, the quantity of materials was elaborated, and costs were calculated based on the price database of inputs and services from SINAPI, referring to the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Upon completion of the process, a 47.69% cost saving was achieved compared to the compared system. Thus, with the results of this research, it was possible to observe that, in this case, the structural masonry system can be a highly viable and efficient alternative in the pursuit of cost reduction and waste minimization.
