Structural masonry is an efficient construction system that has been increasingly utilized in the civil construction industry. However, in this construction system, it is crucial to recognize the relevance of horizontal forces, as these forces have a significant impact on the structural response, leading to flexural-compressive design. The objective of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis of the efficiency and feasibility of structural masonry in axial and bending design at Stage III, using the methodology employed by the old standard and comparing it with the results obtained in the work of Vieira (2022), who utilized the ABNT NBR 16868-1:2020 procedure.
