Tito Lívio (59 a.C – 17 d.C), historiador romano, provindo de Patavium (Pádua),
escreveu uma grandiosa obra intitulada de Ab Urbe Condita Libri (História de Roma),
composta de cento e quarenta e dois livros, dos quais chegaram aos nossos dias trinta e
cinco. O eixo norteador de sua escritura é a rememoração de narrativas do passado, das
épocas da realeza e da república, que têm o intuito de produzir modelos virtuosos para a
prática cívica de sua época. Obra que contribuiu com o projeto ideológico e reformador
do princeps, imperator e augustus Otávio. A obra endereçada para o populus
romanorum cujos vícios, crera, estavam abalando a identidade do ser romano, pela
atenção dada ao luxo, às riquezas e o não cumprimento das práticas cívicas em geral,
via a história (magistra uitae) como um meio de Roma voltar a sua identidade primeira,
a de ser senhora do mundo. Tito Lívio recupera os exempla de indivíduos e de famílias
inteiras para a elaboração de seu manual cívico. Portanto, o presente trabalho analisa
como se relacionam os exempla individuais e familiares no contexto em que foram
mimetizados. |

Livy (59 B.C. – 17 A.C.), Roman historian, coming from Patavium (Pádua), wrote on a
great work titled Ab Urbe Condita Libri (Rome History), its composed by on hundred
forty two books, of whom survived until nowadays are thirty-five. The guide of his
writing is the remembering of narratives from the past, from royalty and republic, with the objective of produce a virtuous for a civic practice of his period, like this,
contributing for the ideological and reformer project of princeps, imperator and augusts
Octavian. The work addressed for the populous romanorum whose vices, believe, where
shaking the identity of the Roman people, for the attention given to luxury, the richness
and the non-compliance of their general civic practices, saw the history (magistra uitae)
as a means of Rome return to it first identity, the identity of being the Lady of the
world. Livy recovers the exempla of people and familes for the elaboration of his civic
guide. Therefore, the present work analyses how are related the individual and families
exempla and their respective context that were mimicked. |
