Resumo:
The budget is an indispensable tool in cost engineering within the construction industry, aiming to assist in project planning by forecasting expenses. A well-crafted budget allows for intelligent resource allocation and organized planning to anticipate and prevent unnecessary expenditures that could inflate the final project cost. Recognizing the importance of creating an accurate budget has led to the need to explore methods for constructing budgets aligned with project reality. From this standpoint, this research comprises a comparative study between two budgeting software applications for a construction project in the capital of the State of Rio Grande do Norte. OrçaFascio and the Ciclope software were selected as the study objects, utilizing a database from June 2023. Adjustments were made to replace databases and update values for the research. The results demonstrate that, concerning the studied project, the budget generated by Ciclope is 0.44% lower than that produced by OrçaFascio. Nevertheless, the outcome was satisfactory as the budget variance is less than 1%, and both budgets closely align with the project reality.
