Abstract

A hydraulic and economic study was done for designing an Irrigation unit of a simplified trickle Irrigation system with perforated tubes [hoses], regionally called "Xiquexique" [read "SHEEKSHEEK") . The design characteristics were determined utilizing an Iterative calculation process developed by computer simulation employing deslgnlnd methods pro posed by Rodrlgo [1980], Keller [1976] and the U . S . A . / Soil Conser vatlon Service [1978], for lateral design / economic pipe size selection and Irrigation unit design, respectively. Ml possible hydraulic situations were considered, In an attempt to obtain In formation both specific and general. Graphs and tables were developed to make It easier to professionals to accomplish their task of project design and evaluation.
