Abstract:
This paper presents a multicriteria analysis of the transport system that serves the workers of the Industrial District, considered as one of the main attraction attraction points for work in the city of Campina Grande-PB. The study aims to verify the intensity of use and ownership of the bicycle, as well as the potential in the research area, and thus propose appropriate measures to ensure the safety of cyclists and stimulate the use of this mode of transportation. The multicriteria decision-making method, the multiattributive utility theory - MAUT, was used to evaluate the behavior of users. In the problem structuring phase all the criteria considered relevant in the choice were specified. In this work, the transportation alternatives were evaluated in relation to the following criteria: tariffs, travel time, safety, comfort and reliability. We then assigned weights to the criteria, within predefined limits, to form the utility functions relative to each of the criteria. Finally, these utilities were aggregated to obtain the priorities for each of the alternatives considered in the model. The modes of transportation used by the workers are: bicycles, public transport, buses offered by the company and travel by foot. The partial results of this study indicate that the time spent traveling, with a relative weight of (0.28) is the most important factor, followed by safety (0.22), reliability (0.19), comfort (0.17) and tariff (0.14). An evaluation of the results indicates that the bus offered by the company, with relative weight (0.33), is the best alternative, followed by bicycle (0.32), public transport (0.29) and travel by foot (0.06) .
