Avaliação dos riscos ocupacionais e enfermidades ligadas ao trabalho no campo no município de Itaporanga – PB.

Abstract

Agriculture considered one of the activities that cause the most death, since it an area where working conditions require greater physical effort and exposed to various risk agents. Such as various tools and handling of machines, tractors, solar radiation, electric shocks; extreme temperatures, cold and heat; noise; chemical agents for soil fertilization; pesticides; stung by venomous animals, among others. Therefore, the objective of the research is to identify the occupational risks as well as the diseases related to work in the field in the municipality of Itaporanga – PB. The study is a descriptive, applied cross-sectional, exploratory and field research, in which it realized in the municipality of Itaporanga. The target population was composed of family farmers from the municipality of Itaporanga – PB that the sample consisted of 178 rural workers. During the collection, semi structured questionnaires were elaborated by the researchers. After data collection tabulated in Microsoft Excel ® spreadsheets and as support for the statistical treatment and formation of the database, the SPSS program used. The research submitted and approved by the Ethics Committee in Research of the University Hospital Alcides Carneiro of the UFCG – Campina Grande. It evidenced in the study that farmers are exposed to several agents of risks such as solar radiation, cold, humidity, pesticides, fungi, bacteria and viruses, long working hours, hand tools, falls, road accidents, water contamination, inadequate and vicious postures, weight lifting, manual weight-bearing, squatting during flexural posture activity while working while standing, leaving your health and safety vulnerable to insults. It concluded that the work carried out by the farmer shows different agents of risk, which can result in the process of illness and accidents at work. Agriculture requires the use of hand tools and tools, which requires attention to how they used during the working day, as well as, the environmental conditions and the intensity of the work-employed make the rural workers more susceptible the consequences.
