Abstract:
This paper aims to address how the events of World War II are represented through
audiovisual resources within the film industry, by analyzing movies and
documentaries produced by directors, documentarians, and filmmakers. With this in
mind, the objective is to formulate a historical analysis of the events of the Second
World War and how historians can make use of visual resources as professional
tools, capable of reaffirming and bringing new perspectives to the history of the
conflict. Therefore, historians rely on recent historical sources within the
historiographical arsenal, reaffirming the use of images and cinema as tools capable
of presenting or representing ideas about the events that occurred in the past.
