Abstract:
School subjects have a trajectory permeated by changes in their curricula, which are
most often influenced by interests outside the school environment. In Basic Education,
the teaching of History must contribute not only to the student's student training, but
also, and mainly, to citizenship training. Considering the National Common Curricular
Base – BNCC – as an approved normative document to guide basic education
throughout the country, the objective of this work is to understand how the National
Common Curricular Base presents the teaching of History for the Final Years of
Elementary School. As for the methodology, it was decided to use exploratory research
of a qualitative nature, as technical procedures, bibliographic research and
documentary analysis were used. The results found indicate that the BNCC did not
present significant changes with regard to the teaching of History, in this sense, there
is a conservation in the traditional model of teaching History in basic education, mainly
caused by the different conflicts that permeated the construction of the curriculum of
History for elementary education in the construction of BNCC between the years 2015
and 2017.
