Resumo:
Although there are a significant number of studies related to the linguistic attitude in the
international academic field Lambert (1967); Giles et al. (1982; 1991); Fernández (1998);
Coupland (2007), there is still a shortage of works regarding this phenomenon. in Brazilian
Portuguese varieties, both in dialectal contact and in variationist studies. Thus, considering
that this research is qualitative and that aims to theorize and clarify the role of attitudes
regarding the relation between language, individual and society, this research will have as
its general objective to analyze some studies already done on the role of linguistic attitudes
in Brazilian Portuguese (BP) in dialectal contact, variation or smoothing of record in
communities of speech. To shape the corpus of this study, we selected 8 studies, which
cover different accademic genres: papers, master's dissertation and doctoral thesis.
