Abstract:
In a contemporaneity filled with a “desire of presence”, this texts aims to
analyze the Brazilian pentecoastalism/newpentecostalism expressions, in this
specific case, Christian Heavy Metal, based on the “production of presence”
and “intensity moments” notions elaborated by Gumbrecht (2010), indicating
Christian Heavy Metal as a specific disposition closest to a “production of
presence”. If the relations between bodies in contemporaneity look for
intensity as opposed to a world flooded in a hermeneutic overload, this desire
also penetrates the relations in Brazilian pentecoastalism/newpentecostalism,
through actions that emphasize the material and presence dimensions.
