Abstract:
This article aims to put on a set of practical problem-economic, legal, social, economic, and cultural
policies that are occurring in the name of organizing mega events, especially by preparing for them
in terms of infrastructure and dispossession, removal, overthrow of buildings and privatization of
airports and roads, outsourcing services, construction of roads and bridges, increased roads and
subway, avenues of expansion and renovation of facilities, construction of hotels and stadiums, taken
from people and entire communities of neighborhoods and spaces for speculation and profit potential
before, during and after the completion of mega events. In the text, we describe the specific situation
of the city of Cuiabá and what is happening in the name of her preparation for the World Cup, having
been chosen as one of the host cities. Problematize these interventions in the field of discipline,
biopolitics and security.
