Abstract

The study that is effective in this monograph seeks to identify the forms of subordination that capital imposes on the small peasant production dispersed in the Southern Coastal Region of Bahia, which encompasses the productive units that preferentially use family labor and sporadically buy or sell work for the execution of the tasks affecting them. In order to hurt the hypotheses raised by the present research, the economic, cultural, social and ideological variables related to the population in question were taken as parameters. These variables are strongly influenced by the determinations of capital and are resized in their movement for the dynamization of capitalist accumulation. These indicators portray the real situation of the small producers, in what concerns to their direction in the direction of the ascending differentiation or proletarianization. The economic rise of some was based on the labor capital embedded in the land primarily by the members of the family, subsidiarily by the work of others and rural credit. Considerable portion of these is directed towards expropriation, having in the small size of the plot and in the poor supply of resources the factors that cause this phenomenon. In the demarcated region, the family producers of the smaller strata of the area - establishments with less than 20 ha - are in an advanced state of pauperization. Those that have reached some level of capitalization - have risen economically - have larger land areas, in which they add more working capital in the form of permanent and / or temporary crops. The subordination and domination that capital establishes over small producers is confirmed and highlighted by the commercial linkage, socio-cultural situation, political engagement, labor market linkage, forms of solidarity and class ambivalence. Conditions of existence that evidence and ratify the high degree of subordination to which the peasantry inserted in the investigation are subjugated.
