Resumo:
The objective of this work was to analyze the behavior of convective drying of sanitary sewage sludge at temperatures
of 60, 70, 80 and 90 ° C, and to define mathematics models that do predicton of the drying process. The sanitary
sewage sludge was collected in a UASB reactor and the process of drying was carried out in a convective oven using
a sludge mass of 500 g for triplicates and at four different temperature levels. The percentage of moisture content
of the sewage sludge in natura was 92.5%. Among the mathematical models studied, those of Midilli and Page
presented better statistical parameters applied, presenting possibility of application of the thermal drying process
of sanitary sewage sludge on bench scale. To suggest 90ºC as the temperature with better capacity of aplication in
this process of drying, once that reduces the time of drying and propitiate relation cost / benefit more favourable.
