Abstract:
The theme of this course conclusion is the Right to Family Life of children and adolescents in
the context of family destitution. In which, having as a general objective the comprehension
from the theoretical debate on the possibilities of the professional work of the social worker in
the face of the principles of the Right to Family and Community Coexistence provided for in
the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA), it was possible to analyze the theoretical
production of Social Work in the performance of the child and adolescent protection policy
and bring reflection on the attributions of professional work in issues related to family
destitution and the expressions of the "social question" in which they permeate. The
justification for the choice of this theme comes from my interest that arose during the
internship period, which was configured as a personal motivation, to deal with the workspace
for social workers in the face of numerous families and their issues, but mainly family
destitution. From a literature review and bibliographic research, it will be analyzed how this
problem of family destitution is treated and considered, mainly, by contemporary Social
Work. It also sought to understand the ethical dimension of professional practice in the
dimension of the principles of the Right to Family and Community Life. Finally, presenting
the conclusions of the research, considering the main bias addressed, family destitution, the
institutionalization of children and adolescents and the role of the social worker in this
context, imbricated by a deep state negligence characteristic of the capitalist system, which
places all the responsibility of the family under the family without taking into account the
economic factors, social, generational and cultural aspects that they live in, in the face of
fragmented social policies.
