Leadership is recognized as a crucial factor in boosting productivity and innovation in organizations, directly influencing individual and collective performance. The general objective of the study is to analyze academic production on leadership styles and organizational performance in national scientific journals with Qualis A1 to A4, from 2004 to 2023. Highlighting the figure of the leader as an inspiring and determining agent for the future directions of organization, the study highlights the direct influence that leadership style has on organizational performance, which can generate positive or negative impacts. To this end, an integrative literature review was carried out, of a qualitative nature with an exploratory approach. Eight relevant articles were found, which demonstrates a limitation of the literature on the two topics together. It also verified the predominance of transformational theory with a
positive influence on individual and team performance, but transactional theory also exerted a considerable influence. Thus, it sought to contribute to increasing understanding of the topics, identifying existing trends or gaps that still need to be investigated. As limitations, although the number of articles found, the analysis was based on eight articles. What is recommended for new research is a survey of other sources, such as other national magazines, and the inclusion of theses and dissertations, so that the field of study is broader.
