Resumo:
This course conclusion work intends to problematize the topic of Sexual Education in
the training of pedagogues, based on the following study question: How are Sexuality
and Sexual Education addressed in the Pedagogy Course at the Teacher Training
Center-CFP, from Federal University of Campina Grande-UFCG, considering that in
the curricular structure of this course there are no specific subjects that objectively deal
with this topic. As for the methodology, the chosen research approach was qualitative,
developed from an exploratory field study. For this research, the following general
objective was developed: to analyze, from the perspective of undergraduates, how the
approach to Sexuality and Sexual Education occurred during training in the Pedagogy
course at CFP/UFCG. The specific objectives are: 1) to describe the perceptions of
CFP/UFCG pedagogy graduates about their training in Sexual Education; 2) Identify
the students’ learning about sexual education in their training process in the
CFP/UFCG Pedagogy Course; 3) Highlight the effects of the training process on the
pedagogues' conception of Sexual Education in the training of graduates of the
CFP/UFCG Pedagogy course. Of the authors who constitute the theoretical
framework, Maio (1996), Guimarães (1995), Santos (2016), Silva (2015), among
others, are highlighted. The research subjects were four students in the ninth period of
the aforementioned course and the data were collected through semi-structured
interviews, processed and analyzed using content analysis. The analysis of data on
sexual education in the training of students in the CFP/UFCG Pedagogy course
highlights the need for a curricular review and the need to develop training strategies
in order to ensure that future pedagogues are prepared to deal with this relevant issue
in their role as educators.
