Resumo:
This work addresses the concern with scientific literacy and student motivation in Physics
teaching. The main objective was to plan and develop an educational intervention focusing on
Science, Technology, Society and Environment (CTSA). The research was carried out in three
classroom groups, employing a qualitative approach to collect descriptive data. Initially, it
was investigated through questionnaires which Physics topic 2nd year high school students
considered most challenging, with the intention of linking Physics concepts to the students'
daily lives. Subsequently, there was a pedagogical intervention with the application of an
experimental practice on the subject that the students identified as the most difficult. Thus, the
results indicated a positive response to the pedagogical intervention. The planning and
development of an educational intervention focusing on CTSA proved to be effective in
meeting this purpose. It was notable that, after carrying out the experiment, the students
demonstrated satisfaction with the development of the experimental practice, considering it
very interesting.
