Abstract:
The present research aims at a theoretical analysis of the work of women in the Military Police of Paraíba in the context of the socio-sexual division of labor, with a view to revealing the insertion of the female figure within military structures. Thus, this research adopts the critical-dialectic method as an analytical direction, which seeks to understand the object of study in its entirety, considering the processes of contradiction. It is also an exploratory research, with a qualitative approach, which uses bibliographic and documentary review techniques. The sources consulted include books, articles, magazines, theses, laws and jurisprudence, previously selected and indexed using tools such as Google Scholar, Redalyc and Scielo, using the terms "military police" and "division of labor" with the operator boolean AND. Thus, with 816 (eight hundred and sixteen) women and a number of male Soldiers corresponding to more than 18 (eighteen) times the female total, the Paraíba Military Police is marked by inequality, being the 4th ostensible force in Brazil with less active women. That said, the partial emancipations of women in recent decades, although they favor the contradiction of capital, constitute important steps for the female struggle and cannot be ignored. Therefore, it is expected that the structure of the Military Police of Paraíba will be reconfigured, becoming more inclusive, eliminating chauvinist and sexist stereotypes.
