Resumen:
Domestic violence against women has become one of the evils that directly affects women, regardless of social class, race or culture. Over the years, the creation of measures to combat this problem has intensified, however the levels of violence are still worrying, and the period in which it intensified most was the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. The objective of this work is to show in a descriptive way the forms of violence suffered by women in the current scenario, raising historical points to understand this topic. With this study, it is seen that patriarchy is one of the main reasons for the way society sees and treats women, causing them to be inferior and for men to be seen as absolute power simply because they are men, and this This idea intensified with the Catholic Church through the story of Adam and Eve. Furthermore, this inequality intensified in the Northeast, where man's superiority is even seen as “normal”.
