Abstract:
This research aimed to analyze the use of music as a teaching resource in classes high school sociology. To achieve this objective, a review was carried out bibliography on the topic relating art and education, in which Bodart stands out (2021), Libâneo, (1998) and Minayo (1994), among others. From a methodological point of view, the object of analysis was the State School of Elementary and Secondary Education Deputado Carlos Pessoa Filho, located in the urban area of the municipality of Aroeiras – PB, in which it was a semi-structured interview was carried out with two sociology professors, complementing it with the application of questionnaires to high school students in 1st, 2nd and 3rd year classes at that school. This research sought to demonstrate that Musical songs can be an important instrument in teaching Sociology, contributing to a better understanding on the part of students, encouraging them to strangeness of facts that present themselves as normal and commonplace and the imagination sociological, in addition to providing a playful approach to a discipline whose contents have a high degree of abstraction. We also created a Sequence Didactic entitled: “Reflection on the Civil-Military Dictatorship in Brazil from Music”,said SD is composed of 5 (five) classes to be used in Sociology classes at the 3rd year of high school, this didactic sequence was tested in a 3rd year class at
school where the research was carried out. Thus, the results obtained and analyzed
showed that for both students and teachers the use of music as a didactic resource during classes helps to promote understanding of the content addressed in the classroom, as well as to arouse students’ interest in the discipline of Sociology.
