Resumo:
This present monography work came from the following question: how play can
contribute to the cognitive development of the children in Early Childhood Education,
from the teacher’s perspective. In general objective we have: to analyze the importance
of play for the development of children in Early Childhood Education. The specific
objectives are arranged in the following way: describe pedagogical contributions of the
play in Early Childhood Education; understand the children’s development process
through play; reflect about the valorization of the play in school ground, from the
teacher’s perspective. This work leads us a reflection about the utilization of play as
pedagogical resource in the Early Childhood Education children’s learning process,
allowing a larger perception of the manner how teachers insert this act in their
pedagogical practices. The research has a qualitative aspect, using as data collect
instrument the semi-structured interview and the content analysis in the thematic
modality. The interview was accomplished with four female teachers who work or had
worked in Cajazeiras’-PB Early Childhood Education municipal public school system.
In final considerations we can reaffirm the need and significance of a pedagogical
practice based on playfulness for the promotion of learning and development of Early
Childhood Education’s children in different group ages and understand that play
provide integrity of the person, as long as been experienced in classroom in a planned
and compromised manner with the different learnings.
