Resumen:
Playing is characterized as one of the child's six learning rights governed by the National Curricular Common Core and allows children to play in different ways and in different spaces, contributing to interaction and acquisition of new knowledge. In view of this, games and plays are an important learning tool in Early Childhood Education due to the enormous contribution they bring to the child's integral development, as they develop emotional, body, sensory, expressive experiences, as well as motor skills, creativity and affectivity, Hence the need to value play and the educator plays a fundamental role as a mediator in this process. Therefore, our research problem in this study is: What are the implications of using games and plays in the teaching and learning process in Early Childhood Education? The general objective is to: Analyze the implications of using games and plays in the teaching and learning process in Early Childhood Education for the child's development. In the specific objectives we seek to: Know the importance of games and plays for the integral development of the child; reinforce the value of playing for learning in the Early Childhood Education stage and point out the educator's contribution to the use of games and plays for learning. To achieve the proposed objectives, we carried out field research in a municipal school in Sousa- PB, using questionnaires containing 6 open questions, with 4 Early Childhood Education teachers. In this context, as a theoretical basis on the topic we use books, articles, dissertations and documents, through authors such as: Oliveira (2010), Dornelles (2001), Brock (2011), Kishimoto (1996), Niles and Socha (2014), Pereira (2013), among others. The data obtained in this study were analyzed based on content analysis in the thematic modality, through the teachers' speeches on each issue listed. Thus, the research results reinforce the importance of using games as a learning tool in Early Childhood Education and contribute to the appreciation of play, which is so necessary for children.
