Resumo:
The present study aimed to analyze the contributions of female representation,
educational practices and policies of the Teacher Maria Joaquina Vieira to
uiraunense education. As a problematizing research question, this study was
developed from the following theme: What are the contributions of Maria Joaquina
Vieira to educational and political practices in Uiraúna-PB? The study had the
theoretical support mainly in: Louro (1997), Oliveira (2017), Almeida (1998), Bellozo
(2006) and Scott (1995). This research is inserted in the methodological approach of
the life history method with explanatory character that records and analyzes the
phenomena studied. This work was also used the biographical and documentary
research from the semi-structured interview with the teacher, with the analysis of
iconographic and documentary sources of the personal archives of the teacher and
the Town Hall of Uiraúna-PB. Maria Joaquina Vieira is ocularly one of the most
notable and important figures of uiraunense education contributing with her work
from the classroom, through educational guidance, school supervision, work in the
TRE, coordinator of the Teacher Training Center in Sousa-PB, councilwoman with
thirty years of experience in Uiraúna-PB and acting in the approval, requirements,
approval of laws for the improvement of the educational class and others. In addition,
to having been the creator of the official flag of Uiraúna-PB city. The teacher's great
contribution to local historiography is noticeable.
