Resumo:
This study investigates the impact of fake news on public vaccination policies, focusing on how
the dissemination of this false information affects public perception about the safety and
effectiveness of vaccines. The objective is to analyze how fake news disseminated on social
media affects public perception about vaccines and, consequently, influences immunization
policies. Using a descriptive and qualitative approach, several sources of information were
examined to understand the impact of this fake news. It has been observed that the spread of
fake news about vaccines has played a significant role in vaccine hesitancy, resulting in a
decrease in vaccination coverage rates. This false information has negatively affected public
confidence in vaccines and undermined the effectiveness of immunization policies. This study
highlights the importance of combating the spread of fake news about vaccines and promoting
education and public awareness about the importance of immunization. Public confidence in
vaccines is fundamental to the success of public health policies.
