This study aimed to evaluate the characteristics, regional and tissue
composition of F1 goat carcass (Boer x SPRD) finished in thinned grasslands of
subjected to concentrate supplementation. Twenty-four F1 crossbred goats
(Boer x SRD) with body weight (BW) average 26,92kg were used in this study.
The supplement was prepared in order to meet the requirements for the animals
of treatment with 1.5% supplementation had a gain of 150g. For data analysis it
was adopted a completely randomized design with four treatments
(supplementation levels of 0.0%, 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5%) and six repetitions
(animals). The data were submitted to variance and regression analysis. The
supplementation provided a linear increase for most of the weight items and
yields of carcass quality parameters. For the results of subjective evaluations
only conformation was influenced by supplementation. The morphometric
measurements can be observed in a positive linear effect of supplementation to
the perimeter of the chest (PT), hind perimeter (PG), width of rear (LG), width of
the chest (LT). The level of supplementation showed a linear positive effect on
the weight of most non-edible parts of the carcass and for the performance was
not observed influencing supplementation for most items. It was observed that
there was a positive linear effect of supplementation levels (P <0.05) for most
commercial retail cuts except for the weight neck(P> 0.05). However, the
income of the cuts did not influenced by the supplementation levels. For each
tissue weight (muscle, bone, total fat, subcutaneous fat and intramuscular fat) in
cuts, the effect of supplementation was very variedwhat also happened with the
income. On the other hand, muscleincome was not influenced by the
supplementation (P> 0.05) in any cutting studied. The relationship of M:O and
M:G did not show the same results in all commercial cuts. For M:O relationships
there was no positive linear effect of supplementation (P>0,05) for the neck and
shoulder cuts. As for the relationship M:G hears linear effect and negative for
the sidecut and the palette.
