Abstract:
The present study has as its objective the training of teachers, specifically, the training
of Physical Education teachers, through the course of the same name at the
Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB), aiming to investigate the basic
epistemological orientations of the aforementioned Course. The research adopts the
theoretical-methodological framework of dialectical historical materialism and the
document analysis procedure. The main documents chosen for this analysis were
Resolution No. 7, of March 31, 2004, of the National Council of Education (CNE),
Resolution No. 2, of July 1, 2015, the Opinion of the National Council of Education and
Higher Council of Education (CNE/CES) nº 400/2005, CNE/CES Opinion nº 255/2012,
Resolution Federal Council of Physical Education nº 94/2005, the Pedagogical Political
Project of the Degree in Physical Education course at UEPB (2007) and Pedagogical
Project for the Degree Course in Physical Education at UEPB (2016). It identifies, as
main results, that the Degree in Physical Education course at UEPB has its training
linked to the heritage of the European roots of Physical Education, based on the
positivist approach to science, resulting in an emphasis on automated and mechanical
gestures, with the objective to form healthy bodies that can improve worker
productivity.
