Abstract:
This dissertation proposed a study of the relationship between stakeholder management –
measured by environmental, social and governance practices – and performance, in
organizations that release reports according to the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI
Standards). To meet the proposed objectives and answer the research question, data were
collected in sustainable reports for the years 2014 to 2018 from 160 organizations, as well as
econometric models were proposed. The data and models were treated statistically through
panel analysis and the results showed that stakeholder management, in all three dimensions
used – social, environmental and governance – impacts, to some extent, organizational
performance, both in terms of created economic value, distributed economic value, as well as
retained economic value.
