Resumen:
The research deals with the teaching of Mathematics in a multigrade class in the countryside and is anchored in studies on Rural Education and multigrade classes and the teaching of Mathematics in a critical perspective. The school participating in the research is located in a rural community in the municipality of Alagoa Grande-PB. We used document analysis as a methodological procedure to analyze the Mathematics activities recorded in a notebook of a student in the multigrade class of the 2nd and 3rd Year of Elementary School. We also carried out a semi-structured interview with the class teacher. The results of the study indicate that even though Mathematics activities were not identified in the student's notebook, the contextualization of activities with Coexistence with the Semi-Arid region may have been proposed by the teacher during other activities. We recommend carrying out future research on the topic, since multigrade schools in the countryside represent the resistance of peasants and the fight for an education that is socially referenced by rural people.
