Resumen:
The acquisition of submachine guns by Brazilian police is crucial to ensure an effective response in high-risk situations and to neutralize threats in confrontations. In addition, these weapons provide ease of use and mobility. In this sense, this study aims to select the best submachine gun for the Brazilian police, using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) Multicriteria Decision Method to generate weights of the criteria, and from it, the classification of alternatives with the Multi-Objective Optimization Multi-Criteria Decision Method based on Ratio Analysis (MOORA). To this end, a specialist was consulted who identified five criteria for starting the modeling. Based on this, a study was carried out to identify which models would be available in the market for acquisition by the Federal Government. As a result, they identified six models as alternatives. The results showed that the most important criterion for defining the application was Charger Capacity, with 51.63%, while the least valuable criterion was Output Speed, with 3.59%. With the application of the MOORA Method, it was seen that the FN P90 submachine gun was chosen as the most advantageous option for acquisition by the government.
