Resumo:
The research focuses on the traditional knowledge of the Caiana dos Crioulos quilombola community, with a view to establishing relationships between the community's flour production and Mathematics teaching. To understand the theme, we seek answers to the central question: what relationships can we establish between the traditional knowledge of the quilombola community in flour production and the teaching of Mathematics? The general objective of the investigation was to understand how flour production occurs in the Caiana dos Crioulos quilombola community, with a view to establishing relationships between traditional knowledge and Mathematics teaching, followed by the specific objectives: (i) identify the practices and knowledge of flour production by the quilombola community; (ii) establish relationships between the knowledge of flour production and the teaching of Mathematics. The study was carried out in the Caiana dos Crioulos quilombola community with the participation of 02 peasant women who work in flour production, 01 student in the 9th year of Elementary School and 01 Mathematics teacher from the quilombola school. Date were produced through semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that mathematics is present in the production activities of the flour mill and that it is up to the school to explore these environments, giving students the opportunity to learn with traditional knowledge. The study opens up possibilities for studying the role of teaching Mathematics in quilombola communities.
