Résumé:
The general objective is to analyze the adoption scenario during the pandemic and
how changes in social life during this period impacted legislative adoption processes. As for the methodology, this is a research guided by the methods of technical bibliographic, documentary and data collection procedures. The hermeneutic and inductive method were used, taking into account the legal aspects available on the concept and execution of the facts presented during the research carried out. The research showed that the COVID-19 pandemic imposed new challenges on the adoption process, the imposition of isolation and social distancing especially affected the process of coexistence between adoption applicants and the children and adolescents to be adopted. The impediment of face-to-face meetings made it difficult to form an emotional bond and the uncertainty and doubts about the duration of the pandemic period combined with the economic and financial crises brought about by it made many families rethink the adoption process. The pandemic increased social vulnerabilities and increased the number of children and adolescents in shelters. Furthermore, the impossibility of face-to-face meetings affected the formation of bonds between adopters and adoptees, and also made it difficult for technical teams to evaluate the real conditions of the family to carry out the adoption.
