Resumo:
Access to water and electricity are essential conditions for human well-being and
man’s survival. Access to water in the Northeast of Brazil is by the Earth’s
underground, large rivers, and reservoirs, which, sometimes, are very dispersed, and do
not serve the entire population of the region. In addition to transporting water by water
trucks, the electric water pumping system it’s the main form of water distribution for
human and animal uses in this region. However, the universalization of electricity in
these regions is seen with little attractiveness by part of concessionaires of energy.
Given the above, new studies and proposals to encourage and foster the
implementation of new technologies for the generation and storage of water resources
should be encouraged. This work aims to design a photovoltaic water pumping system
to meet the water demand of small rural producers in this region. For this, average
daily water demand values are considered for the required rate. Average parameters
were estimated for the depth and flow of artesian wells in this region. A photovoltaic
water pumping kit was budgeted and an analysis of the financial viability of this
system was carried out, concluding that despite the high initial investment, the system
is viable in the long term.
