Abstract

This work has as its objective the analysis of the interelation between the public transport system and the process of the urban development of João Pessoa. Factors such as accessibility, space available, l and use affect the urban development and this, in turn, determines the necessities of the movement of the population. The transformations in the public transport system resulting from its degree of fitness for the necessities of mobility are connected indirectly to the social, economic and historical mechanisms.
