Resumo:
Roads serve as the primary conduit for the transportation of goods, services, and people in Brazil. Ensuring their optimal condition is crucial for providing comfort and safety to users. Unfortunately, a significant number of the country's roads are defective, with some lacking proper pavement. Flexible pavement are prevalent on highways, although there exist alternatives like rigid and semi-rigid pavement. Despite their prevalence, flexible pavements are not immune to defects (pathologies) over time. These pathologies are numerous and classified by the DNIT to guide appropriate maintenance. This study focuses on a functional analysis of the flexible pavement connecting Patos - PB and São José do Bonfim - PB, utilizing the Continuous Visual Survey (CVS) method outlined in DNIT 008/2003. The method visually assesses pavement pathologies, yielding three key indices: Flexible Pavement Condition Index (FPCI), Expedito Global Severity Index (EGSI), and Pavement Surface Condition Index (PSCI). The obtained indices reveal a severely deteriorated road, signifying substantial losses for its users.
