Résumé:
This research presents reflections on language, memories and teaching, as resources for improving oral and written skills, as sources of preservation for the formation of a people's cultural identity. The general objective is to investigate how the oral genre of narrative memoirs contributes to improving speaking and writing skills, while preserving the historical-cultural formation and identity construction of elementary school students at the EEEFM Professora Dione Diniz O. Dias school, located in Núcleo Habitacional II, Sousa - PB. As a theoretical framework, the research is based on the contributions of Bakhtin (2006; 2011), Marcuschi (2008), Antunes (2009), Koch (2004; 2010; 2018), among others, on linguistic studies, in the light of socio-interactive theory, and its materialization in the concrete and real enunciations of everyday life developed in the various historically situated communicative contexts. We used Le Goff (1990) and Bosi (1987; 2003) as anchors for studies on individual and collective memories, as a principle for preserving history and shaping a people's cultural identity. As for the teaching approach, we are based on the postulates of Antunes (2003) and Koch and Elias (2017), relating them to the assumptions pointed out by the BNCC (2018), regarding the centrality of the text, as an object of discursive practices and an instrument of social interaction, inside and outside the classroom. In terms of methodological procedures, this is applied research, as it aims to generate knowledge for practical application aimed at solving specific problems; qualitative, as it is understood as a characterization of the relationship between the real world and the subjectivity of the subject; participatory field research, as we see the classroom as an action-reflection-action environment for the experiences surrounding the object of study; explanatory, as the researcher seeks to explain the why of things and their causes, by recording, analyzing, classifying and interpreting the phenomena observed. The research universe is made up of twenty-five productions, four of which formed the corpus of the research. In order to value the historical and cultural aspects and memories of the people, we created a pedagogical booklet entitled Through the Rags of Memory, organized in the form of didactic workshops, which prioritizes the development of discursive practices about the production of memories, especially with regard to orality and writing skills as instruments for preserving the historical formation and cultural identity of a people. The intervention is based on the oral and written production of memories narrated by elderly people as a starting point for the production of a Memoir.
