Resumen:
Stress is a normal bodily response to challenging or demanding situations, but when stress levels are too high or last for a long time, they can lead to mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression. Studies show that university students experience high levels of stress related to academic pressure and changes in social and financial life, among other factors. In this study, we conducted a survey with final-year Computer Science students at the Federal
University of Campina Grande (UFCG) during the 2022.2 semester. The survey aimed to understand the relationship between stress factors (health, social, and academic), the perceived level of stress at different times of the semester (beginning, middle, and end), and its impact on academic performance. The results show that students exhibit high levels of stress throughout the semester, and the main stress factor affecting academic performance is family pressure to secure a good job. Furthermore, a significant negative correlation was identified between perceived stress at the end of the semester and academic performance. However, stress at the beginning and middle of the period did not show a statistically significant relationship with student performance.
