Résumé:
This study investigates the challenges faced and the affections experienced by mothers of children on the Autistic Spectrum in the city of Campina Grande. The research focuses on the experiences of these mothers, seeking to understand their daily experiences, their coping strategies and the emotional bonds established with their children. Using a qualitative approach, semi-structured interviews were conducted with four mothers selected through intentional sampling. The data was analyzed using content analysis, allowing a deeper understanding of maternal narratives. The results reveal a range of challenges faced by mothers, from difficulties in accessing health and education services to social stigmatization and emotional overload. At the same time, the narratives also highlight the bonds of love, resilience and dedication that mothers establish with their children on the Autism Spectrum. This research contributes to a greater understanding of the complexities involved in mothering children with autism, highlighting the importance of institutional and community support for the well-being of these families.
