Resumo:
Lately the needs of high data rate transmission associated with the requirements of information reliability and bandwidth
economy led to an increasing interest for intelligent multiplexing systems.
A new code - division multiplexing system is presented.
The drawbacks of previously described code division multiplexing
systems related either with complexity of implementation or with limitations in the number of channels are resolved by a rather
simple set of codewords (the Walsh functions), allowing a flexible trade - off between the excess channel capacity and the error control ability of the system.
The system, channel by channel continously, takes
advantage of the empty time slots (inactive users) to increase its error detecting and correcting capacity by a simple soft decision process in the signal reception.
