Resumo:
The school environment in Early Childhood Education plays a crucial role in the holistic development of children, providing meaningful educational experiences that promote their cognitive, social, and emotional growth. At the Unidade Acadêmica de Ensino Infantil of Universidade Federal de Campina Grande-UAEI/UFCG, it was observed that the spaces, especially the schoolyards, operate inefficiently and with inadequate infrastructure, reaching a point where the use of certain environments becomes impossible, in addition to the need for expansion to meet new modalities. Therefore, the general objective of this work is to elaborate a preliminary architectural study for the renovation and expansion of the building of the Academic Unit of Early Childhood Education of the Federal University of Campina Grande (UAEI/UFCG). This overarching objective unfolds into the following specific goals: I) Propose constructive solutions that ensure the environmental comfort of its users and universal accessibility (TECHNICAL); II) Develop an architectural solution with spaces and configurations that are more stimulating for children and potentially modifiable by them (FORM); III) Enhance the uncovered areas and their better integration with the covered areas, as well as improving the relationships between new and old constructions (FUNCTION). To achieve these objectives, the development of the architectural Project relied on documentary and bibliographical research, the study of related projects, and the diagnosis of the current state of the object of study.
