Resumo:
Coproduction is a governmental strategy that seeks to involve civil society in improving public services, being particularly relevant in the field of education due to the collaborative nature of the activity itself. This study aims to analyze coproduction in public education services in schools in Campina Grande-PB at different phases of the service cycle and levels of participation. The research adopted a qualitative exploratory-descriptive approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with managers, teachers, students, and parents, and were triangulated with documentary research and observations. Content analysis revealed several examples of coproduction, such as the implementation of democratic budgets, the adoption of participatory councils, and the collaboration of various actors in society to enhance students' education. It was found that the municipal elementary school presented a greater diversity of examples, partnerships, and strength in coproduction compared to the state high school. This article contributes to expanding the understanding of the concept of coproduction in practice, classifying the findings based on a typology present in the literature, and may provide insights for schools and administrators on how to encourage the participation of individuals, families, communities, and civil engagement in coproduction projects in public education.
