Abstract

This work develops a methodology for representing architectural projects aimed at individuals with visual impairments. It is a methodology that allows architects to create effective and inclusive communication when conveying and discussing the project with visually impaired users. The work is structured in three phases: 1 – theoretical framework; 2 – related studies; 3 – development. It is a propositional work that seeks to demonstrate method and technology alternatives to include visually impaired individuals in the architectural design process. The result is a tactile floor plan readable through touch, exploring compatible techniques and technologies that can be incorporated into the design process. Furthermore, it proposes recommendations to raise awareness among designers about effective communication with visually impaired individuals.
