Resumen:
The present article aims to report the importance of the practice of supervised internship in the
Federal University of Campina Grande Geography course. The internship is of great importance
to the licentiate degree courses, including the Geography course, since the internship is where
the intern student gets to know the school environment and its background. As a participating
student, at first, there was the opportunity to learn about teaching in an Education
for Young People and Adults class. In the following internships, as a participant and teaching
classes, the concept of being a teacher comes up, at which the teacher does not only teach, they
learn and guide their students into being argumentative individuals regarding to the
environment we live in. To the Geography graduate, the internship does not allow it to be an
end in itself, but a start so that the student can do more reading and researching, and observe
how their performance as a teacher should be. Despite the difficulties that the student and the
teacher find in the school environment, the lack of physical and human structure for the teacher
to exert their function as it should be can be noticed.
