Résumé:
This is an exploratory-descriptive study with a quantitative approach, which had the
general objective of characterizing the family nucleus, the products offered, family
income and technical assistance, preferences for organic products by farmers who
participate in the family farming fair, such as also observe consumers' perception
regarding the products sold by farmers at the family farming fair in the municipality of
Patos, State of Paraíba, from November 2022 to November 2023. One of the specific
objectives was to demonstrate the main interests of producers and consumers for
organic products for sale and consumption of these products in the municipality of
Patos-PB, through demonstrations with economic, social, cultural and other variables.
Of all rapidly growing human activities, traditional agriculture occupies the majority of
land areas on our planet, one of the main causes of soil destruction and pollution as it
does not follow sustainability values, norms and standards. Among the
methodological procedures, field research can be highlighted, centered on non-
participant observation between the consumer and the producer, whose methods
were the monitoring of rural families who sell their products at the family farming fair,
and consumers of the city, through questionnaires and forms, but limiting itself to not
getting involved or trying to change the opinion of consumers and farmers regarding
their ways of purchasing and producing. The results of the analysis of data collected
through questionnaires: demonstrate that farmers are a multiple production
organization, there is female protagonism, appreciation of the prices of their products,
there is little marketing presence of their work. The majority of consumers are
dissatisfied with the value of organic products and the location of the commercial
point of the family farming fair, however the majority of consumers are satisfied with
the physical/biological/chemical qualities of the products sold at the family farming fair
in the city of Patos-PB. The final conclusion of this work is that the commercial point
is harmful to farmers and there is a need to adapt to the modern times of digital
commerce.
