Resumen:
The environmental risks associated with landslides increase in intensity, and their perception is at an inversely proportional level of growth, aggravating the phenomena and exposing the agents to alarming social, economic and environmental consequences. Therefore, prevention is the best way of measuring the problem and avoiding new disasters, but when it is irremediable, risk management is a necessity. The present study aimed at evaluating the perception of the population living in the municipality of Queimadas / PB, located on the slopes of the Serra de Bodopitá, in front of the geological-geomorphological risk of block bearing occurrence; through exploratory research, with field visits. The Geography of risk helps to analyze the concept of landscape - perception of the space lived in its form, functionality, structure and process - and the place with the feeling of belonging that usually places the resident population in the naturalization of the obvious risk. Factors such as home ownership, proximity to family and employment are the main variables that make it possible to neutralize the perception of risk, since society knows about risks and how harmful it may be, but they ignore them.
