Abstract

This paper proposes the development of a preliminary architectural and urban planning study for the fair and public market in the city of Picos, in the state of Piauí. It aims to propose solutions for the requalification of existing spaces, given their great cultural, economic and social impact on the city. Furthermore, it aims to analyze the problems and potential of the site and investigate design solutions that are appropriate for the existing demands. The work will be carried out with the stages of data collection, diagnosis and development of the preliminary study. Finally, it is expected that the preliminary architectural and urban planning study will present an alternative for improving the space, respecting the historical and cultural layers of the place and making the necessary adjustments for current and future problems and demands.
