Abstract:
Charge controllers are essential for charging and preserving the lifespan of batteries. Although simple, they can become complex depending on the power, number of sources, and additional functionalities. They are recommended for small, low-power systems, especially in locations with limited access to electricity. However, they are less suitable for systems requiring continuous energy availability due to the high cost of batteries and inverters and the need for a BMS for load balancing. Hybrid on-grid/off-grid inverters and portable power stations, which combine multiple functions in one unit, are more attractive and efficient for larger systems.
