Abstract:
The incessant search for technological innovations in industrial processes, coupled with the
pursuit of cost reduction and increased productivity, is always a challenge in the field of civil
construction. Thus, the construction method of Cast-in-Place Concrete Walls, commonly
known as "In-loco," has been proving to be a growing alternative in Brazil compared to
traditional methods such as Structural Masonry. Due to the demand for the use of this
method, there was a noticeable need for its regulation in Brazil. Therefore, ABNT NBR
16055:2012 enables the development of structural projects and provides technical support
in the execution of the structural system.
Literature review and case study were the chosen methods for constructing this work.
Therefore, the objective of this scientific article is to compare costs, productivity, and the
execution process between structural masonry and Cast-in-Place Concrete Walls through a
case study conducted in the Residential A building in the city of Paulínia, São Paulo. Thus,
we understand that viability and construction techniques contribute to ensuring productivity,
quality in the execution process, and cost reduction within the construction site.
