Resumo:
This research aimed to understand the perception of school subjects about the space of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) at the Reitor Edvaldo do Ó State School, located in the municipality of Campina Grande, Paraíba, Intermediate Region of Campina Grande, Paraíba. We carried out field research through questionnaires with EJA students and teachers, who were able to respond and reflect on issues related to school dropout, lear-ning difficulties, perceptions of the future, perceptions of social injustices and ways of thinking about Youth and Adult Education, a teaching modality that is consolidating itself as an important training space in the school environment. This is research into social, educational and political theory, aligned with the line of geographic thought that identifies the individual and their place in the world. To do so, we used the theoretical approach of authors such as Freire (2005). We understand EJA as a training space in the school environment, as well as capable of consolidating the school as a place, it is not only a physical space, but also a social, cultural and emotional space that influences and is influenced by individual experiences and perceptions. Place can be a fundamental point of reference in the formation of identity and in the construction of an individual's sense of belonging. Therefore, it can be concluded that this work aimed to understand the individual's perceptions and the right to study that he was denied at the appropriate age.
